Robert LaSardo
robertlasardo.net
Throughout his career, Robert LaSardo has found his niche in Hollywood playing the devious criminal. Often evil personified onscreen, he constantly manages to charm police investigators and audiences alike. As Escobar Gallardo on the award-winning series Nip/Tuck, Robert plays a cunning villain who convincingly tortures Dr. Christian Troy into revealing key information about the location of a child molester. As a gang member on both CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Miami, he taunts the lead investigators but ultimately wins their respect. With more recent performances in Ghost Whisperer and his own independent film Never Down, Robert is creating complex characters that are tortured by life, rather than the torturers themselves. Born on September 20, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York, Robert spent his childhood in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn near the once famous Steeple Chase amusement park commonly known as Coney Island. During an impoverished and turbulent upbringing, Coney Island was a refuge for young Robert. Riding the New York City subway trains on his own by age eight, Robert found his escape and second home in the fantasy land of the ageing but enchanting old world theme park. From that point on, it was clear that seeking safety and peace-of-mind in places and things that supported creativity and imagination were necessary for his survival against the contrast of his stressful home life. The Amazing Tim M. West!
www.reddirt.biz/
Black, gay-identified, feminist, POZ, and working class, Tim'm T. West has embraced all of who he is and, with laser-beam precision, harnessed the power of his truth to illuminate, celebrate, inspire, provoke, and bear witness. As a teacher, performance artist, author, and culture producer, Tim'm has become an exemplar among contemporary Renaissance personalities of the early 21st Century as he brings others to voice through education for critical consciousness. Indeed, that Tim'm has been interviewed by such dizzying array of media outlets from Newsweek to the New York Times is a testament to his importance to the spirit and history of the times as a foundational maverick among black, multi-disciplinary artists. Even a restricted Google' search of just his name yields thousands of Internet occurrences. The foundation for Tim'm's work as an Educator and Scholar can be found in the red dirt of Taylor, Arkansas where Tim'm grew up before leaving for Duke University where he completed his BA. From there, he went on to earn an MA in Liberal Studies/Philosophy from the Graduate Faculty of The New School for Social Research in 1998 and another MA in Modern Thought & Literature from Stanford in 2002. On the secondary level, he served as the Department Chair of English and Creative Writing at the Oakland School of the Arts before relocating to Washington, DC where he taught in the English Department of the Cesar Chavez Public Charter High School. In various capacities, since 1995, Tim'm has also worked for College Summit, Inc. notably as a High School Coordinator in DC in 2006-07 helping to the build capacity of high schools to get more of their students into college. Known for his engaging teaching methods, Tim'm has taught on the post-secondary level as an instructor of Writing Pedagogy classes at Eugene Lang College of The New School (NYC) and as an instructor in Stanford University's first-year Writing and Critical Thinking Program. In 2008- 2009 Academic Year Tim'm taught in the Department of World Languages and Cultures as a Visiting Lecturer in Ethnic Studies at Humboldt State University (CA). From December 2009 until May 2011 Tim'm held a position as an Adjunct Professor in Philosophy/Humanities at Houston Community College. In the summer of 2011 Tim'm joined distinguished faculty with the Washington National Cathedral Scholars Program where he taught a 6 week blog-based Social Justice/Activism course.

A. H. Scoot
www.facebook.com/ahscottnycdiamond
A.H. Scott is a writer based in New York. She's a new voice and vision of fiction who has been writing short stories and poetry ever since childhood. But, now she's dipping her toe into the pond of publishing. Her writing and art is just an extension of the passion she feels for living. Every day alive can bring something new into one being?s heart and soul. Art can change the world. Be it through words, or images. Sometimes, a mixture of both can get a person to think and ponder the larger meaning of being beyond just the skin which we all live within. It could be something as simple as a single tear on a beach. Or, maybe it can be as enormous as the universe beyond the stars. It all depends on where you sit in your own psyche. A.H. Scott is author of two novels, "Over My Head" and "Rack Em". Also she has several short stories (FREE and nominally priced) from Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and iTunes.

Gary Dixon
www.facebook.com/sinnawitsoul.
Gary Dixon was born in Sedalia, Missouri, appropriately in the middle 70's--the "Me Decade." Two weeks premature and three pounds underweight, he had a strong desire to to overcome a life confined to an incubator. Perhaps this tenacity, from his very start, is the best metaphor for his life. Gary's love for the written word was well established as a child, reading for hours on end, in his own little world. By age six, he would take stories from his favorite book, "My Book of Bible Stories,??? and perform them as newscasts to the annoyance of family, friends and to all who were in the vicinity. Gary's own interest in writing really didn't manifest until he discovered the works of Essex Hemphill in his teens. His interest further was reinforced later in his 20s, through association with Sojolity Prime, a phenomenal woman and writer who would become his 'bestie' for life. Both Hemphill and Prime inspired Gary to explore ideas regarding life, love, trials and all else on his own terms--as a Black, same gender loving (SGL) individual. Prime provided significant encouragement to craft his artistry further, as well. He never has looked back! Gary officially came out of the spoken word performance closet a little over two years ago, when he worked up the nerve to attend a weekly open mic event in the neighborhood in which he resided. A resident of Columbus, Ohio, he continues to explore writing while taking poetry and other classes at The Ohio State University and working on his open mic presentation at various clubs around the city, using the nom de plume ???sinnawitsoul.??? Writing and performing are ways by which Gary works out his own insecurities about who he as a Black SGL man, hopefully making it easier for those who are coming after him to lighten their loads and know their worths in the community at large. Also a quiet activist, Gary is a founding member of an LGBTQ affirming Christian ministry, The RESTORATION Church (Columbus), where he serves in a leadership capacity. He is excited about the work that they are destined to do, as LGBTQ persons strive to heal the hurts suffered at the hands of the Church and by religious people. Gary is honored that his piece ???Are You Happy Now??? has been included within this amazing and timely anthology that is addressing one of the many issues that continues to plague our community. He can be reached via Facebook @ www.facebook.com/sinnawitsoul.
